Renewal vs. First-Time

The process depends on whether your records are already on file with NBI Manila:

• Renewal — your last NBI clearance was issued in 2014 or later and your name and marital status haven’t changed. No Form No. 5 and no new fingerprints required — we renew using your existing record at NBI Manila.
• First-time application, or name/marital status change, or last clearance before 2014 — Form No. 5 and ink-and-roll fingerprints are required. We send you the form and instructions after you apply.

2. We handle everything with NBI Manila — We submit your renewal, track processing, and manage any issues that come up. NBI HIT resolution is available as an additional service.
3. Receive your NBI clearance — Your completed certificate is shipped to your US address by DHL or UPS. Outbound courier is billed separately at cost.

First-Time / Form No. 5 — Step-by-Step

4. Mail the completed form back to us — Ship Form No. 5 to our Toronto office via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Inbound shipping is arranged and paid by you.

Why is shipping separate? We charge shipping at cost so you only pay actual courier rates. International rates vary by destination, weight, and service speed — quoting them as a flat add-on would either overcharge or lose money. The base service fee stays flat at USD $99 / $249 and the courier invoice reflects the real cost on your specific shipment.

You need ink-and-roll fingerprints on NBI Form No. 5 (the “Blue Form”). This is different from the LiveScan electronic scanning that’s standard in the US, so you’ll need to ask specifically for ink-and-roll service.
